Notes

His name is Douglas Renton-Cooper. He is the illegitimate son of Douglas Eric Hardy (1922 - 1996) and Rebecca Rantor (living). He was born in 1940 and named Douglas Edwin Renton. He was informally adopted but when his Mother and Father married in 1941 (Chepstow) they tried to retrieve him unsuccessfully. His parent's marriage did not last many years and by 1945 Rebecca was living elsewhere and had a baby to a man she later married.

Douglas took his Mother's name (misspelt by the registrar) and his adoptive parents name and has used the double barrelled name ever since.
